Walker is an AMAZING 10 year old who has Autism (Aspergers) along with ADHD and anxiety. This truly makes him the person he is today. He is so very smart and loves SCIENCE. We do so many things to help him as much as possible. Along with his 7 year old sister who also has Autism (PDD NOS), speech delay, learning disability, and ADHD. We work with Dr Scott Faber at the Children's Institute and use supplements, gluten free and casein free diets, essential oils and occupational therapy to help build their immune system, allowing their bodies to function at the best of their abilities. It truly has been amazing. The outcomes have out weighed the financial hardships. With that being said, at our recent visit with Dr. Faber, he feels Walker would be a good candidate for Biofeedback. It is a therapy that helps learn to control Brain Blood Flow, Brain Waves (EEG), and skin temperature. This can help with decreasing anxiety and help become more focused. The institute is showing an 80% success rate with the benefits lasting over 5 years. With this information we are hoping to start this therapy at the end of May through the summer. It is not covered by insurance. It is 15 weeks 2 times a week at the Children's Institute in Pittsburgh. Many people have expressed interest in helping us make this possible for Walker. We would appreciate ANY help to make it possible. We are truly blessed with every person that has touched Walker and Mali's lives. I know they hold spots in many people's lives, as they are both amazing. Again any help would be greatly appreciated.
My local fundraiser is for her son. We just started it and I'm curious to see where it goes from here. We have discussed the profit and I will turn that over to her once the fundraiser is over and Avon has been paid. The fundraiser consists of small product bundles, but any little bit helps. I am excited and nervous at the same time. Wish me luck.
